Earring

Image
While I am happy with learning the technique to making this type of earring I am not pleased with the one I have created. In my first attempt my needle broke when I was almost done with it, and I was unable to finish it due to the needle being jammed into the beads. When I made this one I made it smaller than I would have liked to because I wanted to see if I could at least finish one. I did finish the structure of this one, but in the process of ending it by weaving the string and tying it off I broke the needle. On my next earring I will want to buy more symmetrical beads so my needle will fit easier throughout the earring.

Terra Cotta Collage Tree

Image
I created this tree sculpture using terra cotta fragments. All of these fragments were once bowls or other objects created by the Native American tribes in Georgia. To make this tree I first make a structure out of chicken wire, and covered it with plaster. After that I wrapped the whole tree in twine. Once it was completely covered I used the twine to place the terra cotta fragments onto the tree. I am  pleased with how it turned out, but I would like to eventually put it on a base so I do not have to worry about it falling over.
